Geert Wilders' PVV has managed to get a ban on face coverings in the Netherlands sent to Parliament -- as usual, religiously neutral in language but in actuality aimed at wearers of the burqa and niqab, of which there are respectively about 0 and maybe 400 in the Netherlands by various estimates. I don't actually like those articles of clothing, and don't think women should choose to wear them, much less be forced to, but you shouldn't be prohibited by law from wearing them.
When the French passed the same law I suggested this elsewhere, and I'll try it again here: I think this sounds like an excellent opportunity for a thousand protestors in Guy Fawkes masks. Any Dutch readers?
